The Anglebrook Golf Club was created on 240 acres of farm fields and woodlands formerly owned by the Lincoln Hall School in Somers, New York. With a classic course layout by Robert Trent Jones, Sr. that blended into the existing terrain and preserved many of the existing trees and a traditional clubhouse by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, the club quickly took on a mature feel that fit comfortably into the landscape character of northern Westchester County. Anglebrook was developed by a partnership of Mitsui Fudosan and Kajima USA.

Working in close concert with the golf course and building architects, DTS provided civil engineering and landscape design services to integrate the course and associated roads and parking, cart paths and stormwater measures with the existing site. DTS helped to develop construction and golf course management programs to protect 50 acres of on-site wetland and watercourse resources, with special measures for “playover” areas incorporated into the course routing. Temporary sediment basins were designed to be later reshaped and planted as linear biofilters to provide further protection for the site wetland systems.

DTS also prepared and coordinated the Anglebrook environmental impact statement and processed and obtained 16 separate local, state and federal approvals and permits for the project.

Our integrated, strategic approach to project planning and implementation balances the concerns of the land owner, the community, and the environment with the specific characteristics of the site, enabling us to create intelligent land use solutions.
